Travel to Belize from the USA is quick and easy.  Direct flights exist from numerous cities some just 2 hours away.  More and more direct flights are currently being negotiated including ones from Europe, Canada (Calgary & Toronto) and Denver, Colorado.  All international flights land in Belize city (this will change once the new international airport in Placencia opens).  From Belize city you can either fly on a local airline to Placencia (40 minutes), rent a car and drive (3 hours) or even take a bus.  A charter helicopter or private boat pickup can also be arranged.  All clients of Boris Mannsfeld receive a discount on Tropic Island Air when booked through us.   Boris Mannsfeld & Associates believes in sharing our discounts with our customers instead of receiving a monthly commission check.  Our clients are our priority.

 

International Flights To Belize

Direct flights are as follows:

Taca Airlines flies from the USA to El Salvador and then onto Belize.  The connections in the US are through Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Oakland, San Francisco, Toronto, and Washington.

 

Flying through Cancun, Mexico.  
Many nations offer direct and cheap flights to Cancun.  In Cancun one can take a luxury bus to the border of Belize and then one can fly to Placencia or take a local bus.   From the main bus terminal in Cancun, ATS runs air-conditioned buses to Chetumal (border) five times a day. The trip takes five hours and costs US $10.  At Chetumal Terminal,  you can take a cab to the Corozal airport and fly with Tropic Air to Placencia.   Another option is to use the Belize airline Maya Island Air to fly from Cancun to Placencia.  We do not suggest this option since the flights are inconsistent and frequently cancelled without any notice.

 

Flying through  San Pedro Sula or Roatan, Honduras

Numerous airlines fly direct to Honduras from the around the world.  One can go this route and then fly with Tropic Air  from Honduras to Placencia.

 

Europe & Canada

 

One can fly from Calgary on Continental to Belize with a changeover in Houston.  Direct flights from Europe have not yet started  so one must fly over the USA or one of the options above.

 

Belize Airlines

 

Only 2options.  We highly encourage utilizing Tropic Air.  We have had some issues with damaged luggage and money stolen on Maya with the airline not accepting any responsibility.

Where To Rent a Car in Belize

 

One can rent at the international airport or in Placencia.  The rental companies at the airport in Belize City are right outside the door.  The 3-hour drive along the Hummingbird Highway is spectacular.  5 national parks, several caves, Palm covered mountains and various rivers are found along the way.

Driving to Belize!
