we are looking to purchase a property in Placencia with a budget currently at 200k. My wife is very hesitant as she wants me to get input on the success of finding renters and if the Belize govt. somehow could repossess anything we own or make it difficult for “foreigners”. What can you give her to assure her we should proceed with this?

Best greetings and thanks for your email. Renters especially long term are easy to locate, We are now experiencing a high demand for long-term rentals by the foreigners building new beach homes. The renting of homes fro week long periods during the tourism season (nov-june) is also very popular,
Foreigners receive the same secure title that locals get. Belize offers very very solid title. Foreigners have all the property rights that locals have. We do ot have issues with squatters or eminent domain (gov forces a sale of your land for public need). Real estate investing in belize is great. I personally am invested in various properties, have been investing here since 1997 and am just completing another major real estate investment.
